Lobbying for Change
As the number of ageing people grows around the world, the burden of osteoporosis is expected to increase at an alarming rate. Nevertheless, most governments and health policy officials are not giving osteoporosis prevention and treatment the priority it should have. One of the important missions of IOF and its members is to lobby policy makers and health authorities to ensure that there is access to diagnosis and treatment prior to the first fracture so as to reduce the impact of osteoporosis now and in the future.
