OSI's activities in 2003

As the year comes to an end, the Osteoporosis Society of India (OSI) can look back to a busy year.

In addition to the initiative which led to the first Indian Osteoporosis Consensus Statement on Osteoporosis, the OSI, along with Dr Milind Shah of Indore, organised a CME on Osteoporosis at Indore on 1 June, 2003. Nearly 100 doctors (gynecologists, orthopedic surgeons, physicians) participated. The Chief Guest was Dr R Handa of OSI and the meeting was presided over by Dr DK Taneja, Dean MGM Medical College, Indore. A digitized radiogrammetry facility has been set up at Indore.

In addition, public awareness of osteoporosis was strengthened when India’s leading women’s weekly “FEMINA” carried a cover story on Osteoporosis in its September 2003 issue.
