World 400 meter champion Ana Guevara hosted a race supporting osteoporosis prevention

The 5 km “Woman’s Race”, held on November 9, 2003, is a very popular event held each year in Mexico City - over 3000 people, both young and old, participated in the event. Although organized and sponsored by Nike and other companies like Kraft and Powerade, etc, part of the registration and sponsorship fees are donated to COMOP for its osteoporosis prevention campaigns. It also offers COMOP an opportunity to get public attention for osteoporosis. This is the 3rd year that COMOP has benefited from the event.

The mexican 400 m World Champion and Golden League Champion, Ana Guevara, fired the starting shot and gave the prizes.

The 3,000 runners, cheered on by thousands of viewers, were of all ages and levels of ability. Winners were both the elite athlete who crossed the finish line first and the elderly lady who, walking with the aid of a cane, crossed the finish line last.
