Sport Talk for Strong Bones: sport celebrities join in support of WOD 2005
The World Osteoporosis day message 'Move it or Lose it' is the focus of Osteoporosis Australia's World October 20th media forum.
The forum will feature leading Australian sport celebrities and sport experts. There is great media interest in the forum which will be presented by well known journalist Helen Dalley.
Sport celebrities include:
Liz Ellis,Captain of the Australian Netball; Jane Saville – olympic medallist in race walking;Clinton Hill, olympic silver medal winner inthe 2004 Olympics in Men's 400 m. relay team and 2004 400 m. national champion runner; Wally Masur – Davis Cup coach & former tennis pro Optus Australia Davis Cup coach; Susie Maroney OAM – champion long distance swimmer;
Katherine Bates- olympic cyclist and member of Australian cycling team; and Prof Shona Bass, of the School of Exercise and Nutritional Sciences, Deakin University, Melbourne. - an expert in how exercise and nutrition influence musculoskeletal growth.
Osteoporosis Australia will also be organizing Corporate Bone Games (where some 15 teams of ten compete in about 7 easy activities).
