NOF holds virtual fitness day on October 20th
On Thursday October 20th, 2005 the National Osteoporosis Foundation (NOF) joined organizations around the world in celebrating World Osteoporosis Day to help raise awareness about the important role exercise plays in building peak bone mass and in maintaining bone health.
In the US, NOF held a "Virtual Fitness Day" to encourage all individuals to take personal responsibility and individual action to "Stand Tall Against Osteoporosis" and to build strong bones for life!
Participation were simply asked to perform their normal daily fitness routine on October 20th and help NOF raise awareness about the importance of osteoporosis and bone health.
"If you don't have a normal fitness routine it's time to get started and prevent osteoporosis as well as improve your overall health! Take the steps, park your car in the back corner of the lot or "walk the block" with friends!"
To participate in the event, visitors were asked to make an online pledge at www.nof.org.
