- landsforeningen mod knogleskørhed, has held a multi-faceted World Osteoporosis Day campaign which includes children's activities, the introduction of a new information call line, and a media event to draw attention to the need for improved policies for osteoporosis in Denmark.

To show the importance of exercise for healthy bones, the 8th graders from Lundgårdskolen, Holstebro, DK, have trained extra hard for the school's annual jogging-event. They are wearing t-shirts with a wishbone logo- sponsored by the Danish Osteoporosis

School children all over the country have a sport-activity friday before their holiday in week 42.The society has offered T-shirts with logo to all interested 8th grade classes (13-14 years of age).
After the activity representatives from our organization gave the school-children a music-CD and a little cooking booklet with ideas for bone-friendly meals appealing to young people.

The society will also introduce a new service - "the osteoporosis-telefone". The public can call in and receive information about osteoporosis.

The campaign will also include a media-related event -the issue of a press release focusing on the EU Osteoporosis Panel (which included politicians and osteoporosis specialists from different EU-countries) and, specifically, on osteoporosis-related health policy initatives in Denmark.
